Messmate Stringybark

Trees are measured accurately (height, girth, crown spread), then ‘size’ is calculated using a defined points system.

This Messmate is the largest known tree in the Strathbogie Ranges (above ~300 m asl) and grows not far from the corner of  Barjarg Rd and Howes Mill Tk.

  • Height = 49 m
  • Girth = 9.96 m
  • Diameter = 3.0 m
  • Crown spread = 30 m
  • Total points = 577
